Philosophy and Goals
“Using swim instruction to help promote water safety and improve swimming skills that will last a lifetime and help develop confidence for individuals both in and out of the water.”
At Home Aquatics number one goal is to teach the necessary skills to be safe in and around water. Before we even begin to teach stroke development and refinement, our Water Safety Instruction (WSI) certified instructors teach all aspects of water safety to ensure that the student is able to handle an aquatic emergency that may arise, specifically accidental exposure to the water. We supply them with the crucial skills needed to return safely to the pools edge unharmed.
Once aquatic safety is learned and understood, we assess each student’s aquatic ability and dive right into their personalized swimming program. The individualized curriculum is designed and developed by taking the students, parents, and instructors’ pre-discussed goals for the lessons, and applying them to the outline for the session. At Home Aquatics bases each swimming program on US Swimming standards and then customizes the lessons to accomplish the swimming goals. This process is what separates us from other traditional swim schools. We talk with families before each session begins so that we address and understand what each clients' individual needs, wants, and goals are. Feedback shows that we have met or exceeded expectations set forth by clients each and every time. You’ll be amazed at the steep learning curve your swimmer exhibits after only one session of At Home Aquatics swim lessons!
